With theatres and movie halls not opening any soon, leading media and entertainment company, Zee Enterprises Private Ltd. announced on Tuesday, the launch of ‘Zee Plex’, which is a film distribution service on television as well as digital platforms.

Zee Plex is the first ‘Cinema2Home’ (C2H) service, for which Zee has partnered with leading distributors like Tata Sky, Dish D2H and Airtel Digital TV as well as other leading platforms in the international market. It will offer films on a pay-per-view (PPV) model and will be available on its OTT platform, ZEE5 as well.

Among all businesses, movie theatres have been the worst-hit due to the lockdown during this pandemic. Zee will be launching ‘Zee Plex’ on 2nd of October, with an aim to bring movie halls to consumers’ homes.

Speaking to the media, Zee Studios chief executive officer Shariq Patel said, “We are very excited to bring this new offering to all the movie buffs across India and around the globe. While we all love to catch the latest movies at the nearest theatres, we sensed the need for a solution like Zee Plex, which gives the consumers flexibility and convenience, to catch their favourite films in the comfort of their homes, along with friends and family. We have received great interest from producers and are looking forward to release a strong slate of blockbusters across languages.”

Zee Plex will offer service at an affordable price point and will available to all, 24x7 with shows throughout the day in order to give the consumers’ some flexibility.
